Finance Operations and Reconciliation Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Operations and Reconciliation Officer to join our remote team supporting an Australian mortgage services provider. The role focuses on ensuring accurate payment processing, commission reconciliation and maintaining robust financial controls across valuation and broker channels.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor incoming bank receipts and valuation payment requests, verify and reconcile customer payments, and flag unmatched, duplicate, over‑paid or under‑paid transactions.
• Reconcile monthly funder and commission statements, investigate discrepancies and maintain detailed workbooks and exception logs.
• Prepare commission statements, validate payment amounts, loan allocations and beneficiary details, and assist with invoice preparation and remittance schedules.
• Compile payment schedules for accountant review, perform duplicate amount and bank‑detail verification checks.
• Produce daily exception updates and monthly reconciliation reports, keep records organized in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, and identify process‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Highly detail‑oriented and disciplined finance professional with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical judgment and ability to maintain financial controls in a process‑driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite.
• Experience using SharePoint for document management.
