Grant Finance Coordinator

About the role

The Grant Finance Coordinator is responsible for managing financial accounting, reconciliation and expense review for US Government‑funded grants and the Flood Response Project. The role ensures strong financial controls, timely reporting and compliance with donor regulations, supporting the organization’s mission to serve vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial operations of US Government‑funded grants, ensuring compliance with donor regulations, internal policies and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, conduct account reconciliations and support grant close‑out activities.
• Monitor project expenditures, budget utilization and provide analysis of spending trends and burn rates.
• Oversee partner financial monitoring, conduct reviews, and provide capacity‑building support to implementing partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Studies or equivalent.
• 3–5 years progressive experience in finance, accounting or grant financial management within an NGO/INGO environment.
• 2–3 years direct experience managing US Government‑funded grants (e.g., USAID, BHA, CDC).
• Proven ability to ensure compliance with donor regulations and internal controls.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sun Systems, Vision XL, Executive).
• Knowledge of US Government Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and donor compliance.
• Understanding of VAT and foreign tax reporting for grant‑funded projects.
