Health Worker (HA-2)

About the role

Manavsewa Ashram, a non‑profit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable street‑dwelling populations in Nepal, is seeking a Health Worker (HA‑2) to provide primary medical care, wound management and medication oversight for residents of its shelters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial health assessments of rescued individuals and prioritize treatment based on medical urgency.
• Perform wound cleaning and dressing using sterilised instruments while preventing infection.
• Maintain an organized stock of essential medicines and health supplies, ensuring proper segregation, secure storage and regular expiry‑date checks.
• Create and update individual medical files with reports, prescriptions and allergy information.
• Monitor each resident’s health status at least once daily and initiate immediate care when problems are observed.
• Manage inventory of mental‑health, antibiotic and over‑the‑counter drugs, keeping a minimum three‑month supply and securing narcotics.
• Prepare and follow scientific medication management procedures, labeling groups such as antibiotics, antihypertensives, NSAIDs, etc.

Required profile

• HA, CMA or nursing qualification in a related field.
• Medical license is compulsory.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Fluency in Nepali and English.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness of diverse backgrounds.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
