NodeJS Developer

About the role

EB Pearls is looking for a Node.js developer to join a small team of engineers, product managers and designers in Kathmandu. The role combines Node.js expertise with AI-enabled development tools to design, build, test and continuously improve backend systems that scale. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Turn complex product ideas into reliable backend systems that handle real user demand.
• Apply AI-assisted development practices across the ADLC to speed up exploration, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation and continuous improvement.
• Build high-quality backend applications focused on performance, reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers and product teams to deliver seamless digital experiences.
• Write optimized, reusable code following strong engineering practices and standards.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs for reliable data exchange.
• Design efficient schemas and queries across SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Take part in team planning, technical discussions and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in the technology stack.
• Logical, diligent engineer who owns problems from identification to resolution.
• Curious, adaptable and open to evolving technologies and the practical use of AI in engineering.
• Clear communicator working well with engineers, product teams, designers and other stakeholders.

Required skills

• Node.js and JavaScript for web applications, deployment and maintenance.
• RESTful APIs and scalable API structures.
• SQL and NoSQL, including MongoDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL, with schema design and query optimization.
• Software design patterns, clean coding standards and Git.
• Vue.js or React.js and basic frontend understanding.
• AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude or ChatGPT.
• Generative AI frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Familiarity with security considerations in web applications.
