Outbound Holiday Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Outbound Holiday Specialist to independently manage the full lifecycle of outbound holiday packages, from initial enquiry through post‑trip follow‑up, while mentoring junior staff in a small, dynamic team.

Key responsibilities

• Handle end‑to‑end outbound holiday enquiries: consultation, itinerary design, costing, booking and after‑sales support.
• Design customised itineraries including flights, accommodation, tours, transfers, insurance and visas.
• Liaise with international suppliers, airlines, hotels and DMCs to negotiate rates and confirm bookings.
• Maintain accurate documentation, invoicing and payment collection.
• Monitor and resolve issues during client travel such as flight changes or emergencies.
• Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through consultative selling and achieve sales targets.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships and upsell additional travel products.
• Train, mentor and review the work of junior staff, develop SOPs and act as escalation point for complex queries.
• Coordinate with Melbourne head office and NZ branch on pricing, promotions and supplier arrangements, and provide regular sales and market reports.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in outbound travel or holiday packaging, preferably with a travel agency or tour operator.
• Strong knowledge of international destinations, airfare ticketing, visa processes and travel documentation.
• Proven track record in travel sales and client relationship management.
• Experience training, supervising or mentoring team members.
• Willingness to work in Kathmandu and collaborate with regional offices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GDS (Global Distribution System) and booking systems.
• Experience using CRM tools for client and booking management.
• Ability to negotiate rates with suppliers and manage itineraries.
