About the role
The Saathi Teacher position is a two‑year, fully funded teaching role in rural municipalities of Sindhupalchowk and Tanahun, Nepal. Selected candidates will complete a pre‑service residential training program before beginning classroom duties.
Key responsibilities
- Teach English or Mathematics to grades 1‑5 in assigned schools.
- Integrate 21st‑century 4C skills (Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication) into daily lessons.
- Prepare lesson plans, conduct assessments, and maintain student performance records.
- Participate in school improvement plans, cluster initiatives, and quarterly trainings.
- Design and implement a small‑scale Community Action Project within two years.
Required profile
- Minimum bachelor’s degree (or to be completed by April 2027).
- Strong communication skills in English and Nepali.
- Commitment to a two‑year teaching assignment in rural communities.
- Passion for working with children aged 5‑13 and willingness to live independently.
Required skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and PowerPoint).
