Senior Finance Coordinator

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a Senior Finance Coordinator to lead finance operations for flood‑response activities in Nuwakot, Nepal. The role ensures that all financial transactions comply with local statutory law and Save the Children’s accounting policies while supporting rapid humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑standard financial accounting for emergency programmes, ensuring compliance with local law and organisational policies.
• Establish and maintain accounting systems, internal controls, and procedures for accurate, timely financial data (budgets, forecasts, expenditures, delegation of authority).
• Develop effective relationships with country finance staff and coordinate with procurement, logistics, distribution, and M&E teams.
• Uphold Save the Children’s commitment to quality and accountability by referencing the Sphere Project, NGO Code of Conduct, and other humanitarian standards.
• Support the Field Operation Lead and Finance Director in designing reconciliation and reporting assurance mechanisms across functions.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 3 level with at least 3 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in humanitarian or non‑profit settings.
• Strong knowledge of local statutory financial regulations and Save the Children accounting policies.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and join within 24 hours of offer.
• Willingness to undergo reference checks and adhere to child safeguarding Level 3 requirements.
