Social Policy Officer – Social Protection Systems Strengthening

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social Policy Officer to lead the strengthening of Nepal's social protection landscape. The role focuses on generating evidence, influencing policy, and supporting innovative programme design to protect vulnerable children and families from poverty and shocks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the expansion of social protection coverage and strengthen delivery systems across Nepal.
• Collaborate with government counterparts and partners to develop policies, programmes, and financing mechanisms.
• Generate and analyse evidence to inform policy and programme decisions.
• Support the design and implementation of inclusive, shock‑responsive social protection interventions.
• Contribute to UNICEF’s advocacy agenda on child‑focused social protection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in social protection, public policy analysis, or programme design.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies and development partners.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
