Trainee for Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (S2GESI)

About the role

The trainee will support the Support to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (S2GESI) project within the Nepali‑German Health Program. Working closely with the Programme Manager and health project team, the role involves coordination, documentation, and technical support for programme activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and documenting programme activities, meetings, workshops and field missions.
• Support coordination with CSO partners, consultants and other stakeholders, including preparation of concept notes, agendas and minutes.
• Help prepare presentations, maintain databases, indicators and activity trackers, and document best practices and lessons learned.
• Conduct literature reviews, desk research and data compilation on health‑related topics and support analysis of programme data.
• Assist in drafting concept notes, Terms of Reference and other contractual documents.
• Support event organization, logistical arrangements and ensure proper filing and archiving of programme documents.
• Contribute to internal and external communication, drafting emails, summaries, social media posts and press articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, medicine, health sciences, development studies, environmental health, social sciences, gender studies or related field.
• Master’s degree (ongoing or completed) is an asset.
• Familiarity with Nepal’s health system and prior internship, research or volunteer experience in health or development projects.
• Experience with development partners or international cooperation is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong analytical, writing and documentation abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good communication skills in English and Nepali, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and willingness to travel for field missions.
