Transmission Line Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our Nepal team, supporting U.S.-based energy service clients. The role focuses on detailed engineering and design of overhead high‑voltage transmission lines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering and design for overhead lines ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV+
• Develop and review plan & profile drawings, structure loading trees, foundation designs, and conductor/insulator specifications
• Conduct line routing studies, structure spotting analysis, and generate sag‑tension and stringing charts using PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE
• Prepare design calculations, engineering reports, material lists, bid documents and construction packages
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical and project‑management teams and support permitting, environmental studies and land acquisition
• Participate in design reviews, quality checks and safety evaluations while ensuring compliance with NESC, ASCE and IEEE standards

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in transmission line engineering or utility design
• EIT certification; progress toward or possession of a PE license is strongly preferred
• Experience on at least two transmission line design projects

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE modeling tools
• Strong knowledge of NESC, ASCE and IEEE standards
• Ability to produce engineering drawings and construction documentation
