Accountant – Investment Firm

About the role

The investment firm is looking for a skilled and detail‑oriented Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with Nepali tax regulations and set up accounting systems across various project locations, including sites outside the Kathmandu Valley.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and implement accounting systems at project sites, including locations outside the valley.
• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and documentation.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports and budgets.
• Handle VAT and tax filings, ensuring compliance with Nepal’s taxation laws.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Coordinate with auditors and assist in audit processes.
• Ensure proper internal controls and financial procedures are in place.
• Provide financial insights and support management in decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality sector.
• Willingness to travel and work outside Kathmandu Valley as required.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills with high accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Tally accounting software.
• In‑depth knowledge of Nepali taxation, VAT and regulatory compliance.
• Experience setting up accounting systems from scratch.
