Accounting Subject Matter Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Subject Matter Expert to work remotely on an hourly contractor basis. You will review and create AI‑generated accounting content, evaluate the quality of reasoning, and provide detailed feedback to improve model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training material such as prompts, gold‑standard journal entries, explanations, checklists and reconciliation logic.
• Evaluate AI‑generated accounting responses for accuracy, clarity, completeness and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Rate and compare multiple solutions, identify errors in bookkeeping logic, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial‑statement presentation.
• Test model outputs for unsafe assumptions, bias or misleading guidance and ensure reliability across business scenarios.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA, ACCA or CMA is a strong plus.
• At least 5 years of professional accounting experience (public accounting, industry, shared services or advisory).
• Deep knowledge of core accounting areas – revenue/expense recognition, accruals, fixed assets, inventory, payroll basics and tax awareness.
• Proven ability to prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and month‑end close deliverables with auditability.
• Solid understanding of financial statements and internal‑control concepts.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency and a reliable, self‑directed work style.
