Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic financial leadership for a reputed trading and distribution company based in Kathmandu. Reporting to senior management, the CFO will oversee financial planning, profitability, treasury, risk management and compliance, acting as a key business partner to drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies, annual budgets, forecasts and long‑term financial plans.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support business expansion, investment, pricing and commercial decisions.
• Monitor profitability, trading margins, costs, cash flow and working capital.
• Oversee inventory, receivables, payables, credit management and cash conversion cycle.
• Manage banking relationships, treasury, letters of credit, bank facilities and financing requirements.
• Ensure timely financial reporting, MIS, taxation, audit and statutory compliance.
• Strengthen financial controls, risk management and governance systems.
• Lead and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
• Partner with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations to improve financial and business performance.

Required profile

• CA qualification – mandatory; MBA or Master’s in Finance is an advantage.
• 10–15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Mandatory experience in a trading/distribution company.
• Strong expertise in financial planning, working capital, treasury, profitability, taxation and commercial finance.
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, negotiation and strategic decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
