IT Trainee – One-Year Fixed-Term Program

About the role

World Vision International Nepal offers a one‑year IT Trainee program for recent graduates. The role provides hands‑on experience with the organization’s IT infrastructure, supporting staff across the country while developing professional skills in a humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and configure new desktops, laptops, and peripherals (printers, scanners, photocopiers).
• Install and maintain operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office suite.
• Configure wired and wireless LAN connections and ensure internet access for users.
• Provide Level‑1 technical support to end‑users, both on‑site and remotely.
• Log and track incidents in the service management platform, escalating when necessary.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics/Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in learning IT operations within a non‑profit setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the IT Officer and other staff.
• Commitment to the organization’s values of integrity, diversity, and non‑discriminatory behavior.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11).
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, LAN configuration, and structured cabling.
• Fundamental hardware troubleshooting abilities.
