Ophthalmic Sales Officer

About the role

The Ophthalmic Sales Officer will be responsible for driving sales of ophthalmic products within an assigned territory. You will build strong relationships with eye care professionals and ensure product availability while delivering market insights to the sales team.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for ophthalmic products.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with ophthalmologists, optometrists, eye surgeons and other healthcare providers.
• Monitor product stock levels, sales movement and distribution across the territory.
• Provide regular market intelligence and competitor updates to the Sales Manager.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities and follow‑ups.
• Communicate product features, benefits, indications and appropriate usage within approved guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ophthalmic Sales or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, ophthalmic, medical device, healthcare or hospital sales (preferred).
• Strong sales and business development capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Own personal vehicle for territory coverage.
• Good knowledge of the local healthcare/pharmaceutical market.
