Sales Officer – Construction Industry

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, target‑oriented Sales Officer to join our construction business. The role focuses on generating new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers, and meeting defined sales targets. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is essential for regular communication with Chinese‑speaking stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction sector through market research, networking, site visits and events.
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Build and sustain professional relationships with builders, developers, architects, consultants and corporate clients.
• Visit construction sites to understand project requirements, prepare quotations and present proposals.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts in line with company guidelines.
• Communicate regularly with Chinese‑speaking clients, contractors and suppliers via phone, email, WeChat and in‑person meetings.
• Translate or assist with translating quotations, contracts and technical documents when needed.
• Monitor project developments, follow up on tenders, RFQs and purchase orders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or business development, preferably within construction or related industries.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a results‑driven mindset.
• Excellent command of Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) alongside English.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple accounts and travel to construction sites as required.

Required skills

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
• Proficiency in preparing quotations, proposals and commercial offers.
• Knowledge of construction products, materials and equipment.
• Effective use of communication platforms such as phone, email and WeChat.
