Staff Manager (Engineering)

About the role

The Staff Manager (Engineering) will lead the growth, performance, wellbeing, and engagement of our engineering teams. You will partner with senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into day‑to‑day execution, while providing coaching, career development, and operational support to engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead employee experience: growth, engagement, wellbeing, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
• Develop and execute individualized career development plans based on skills, aspirations, and gaps.
• Own and deliver strategic staff‑management initiatives, identifying execution gaps and recommending improvements.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and Operations for hiring, onboarding, staffing, and project alignment.
• Execute departmental OKRs in collaboration with senior managers and ensure consistent staff‑management practices across functions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a technology organization, with 2‑3 years in people‑management, engineering management, or a similar leadership role.
• Proven experience managing, mentoring, or developing software/technology professionals.
• Strong understanding of performance management, career development, and employee engagement.
• Ability to comprehend technical roles, engineering career paths, and competency expectations.
• Experience creating and managing development plans and performance processes.
