Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will work on-site in Kathmandu to drive growth for Microplus by expanding its customer base across corporate, institutional and government sectors. This full‑time position focuses on identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships and promoting a wide range of IT products and solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the IT market.
• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate, institutional and government clients.
• Promote Microplus hardware, networking, security, cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Prepare proposals, presentations and sales collateral.
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform strategy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with client needs.
• Manage the sales pipeline, negotiate terms and close deals.
• Support post‑sales follow‑up to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to revenue forecasts and business planning.

Required profile

• Proven new‑business development and customer acquisition experience.
• Strong analytical ability and basic finance knowledge for market assessment and pricing.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Customer‑service orientation with a focus on long‑term partnerships.
• Knowledge of IT products (hardware, networking, security, cloud, infrastructure) or a strong willingness to learn.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with common office and CRM tools.
• Ability to work on‑site in Kathmandu, manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively.
