Commis - Culinary Team

About the role

Accor is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis to join its culinary team in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Commis plays a key role in supporting kitchen operations and helping create exceptional dining experiences for guests. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking dishes under the guidance of senior chefs
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation following food safety and hygiene standards
• Store and rotate food properly to keep it fresh and reduce waste
• Help with inventory management and restocking supplies
• Work with kitchen staff to deliver food on time and efficiently
• Learn and apply proper food presentation techniques
• Take part in menu development and recipe testing as directed by senior chefs
• Prepare mise en place for daily service
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Handle multiple tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment and keep improving culinary skills

Required profile

• Passion for cooking and the culinary arts
• Ability to work well in a team in a high-pressure environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field, with a positive, customer-focused attitude
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); previous kitchen experience preferred but not required
