Cyber Security Specialist – Part‑time (Remote)

About the role

The Cyber Security Specialist will work part‑time, remotely, to protect GenAILabs’ AI platforms, digital products and internal systems. You will help ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and infrastructure by applying security best practices across applications, networks and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and assess vulnerabilities in real time.
• Review system and application configurations and conduct risk assessments.
• Support incident response and coordinate remediation actions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed secure‑by‑design principles.
• Document security procedures and maintain compliance with relevant standards.
• Continuously improve security controls to protect data, infrastructure and intellectual property.

Required profile

• Strong application security knowledge, including secure coding and vulnerability assessment.
• Solid experience in cybersecurity, threat analysis, risk management and security policy implementation.
• Network security expertise such as firewall management and intrusion detection/prevention.
• Familiarity with security frameworks, incident response and security tooling (SIEM, endpoint protection, scanners).
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and APIs.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills with ability to work independently.
• Relevant certifications (Security+, CEH, CISSP) or equivalent practical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field, or comparable industry experience.
