Digital Credit Experience Officer

About the role

The Digital Credit Experience Officer reviews and decides on retail loan applications, ensuring compliance with guidelines while assessing borrower affordability. This mid‑level position works within a high‑volume digital workflow to optimise loan origination and support junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Review and decide retail loan applications within established guidelines.
• Verify income, employment, identity and obligations using bureau reports, bank statements and verification APIs.
• Assess repayment capacity and identify affordability risks missed by automated models.
• Restructure files by adjusting limits, tenors, pricing or conditions instead of defaulting to declines.
• Collaborate with brands and BFIs to improve the loan origination flow.
• Coach and review junior officers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in consumer or retail credit underwriting at a bank, finance company or lending platform.
• Strong understanding of NRB Unified Directives and PSD Directives.
• Solid grasp of credit fundamentals such as debt service ratio, cash flow analysis and bureau data interpretation.
• Comfort with high‑volume digital workflows (LOS/LMS, ticketing systems).
