Head of Language Arts – English Department

About the role

Gyan Sanskar International School is looking for an experienced and dynamic educator to lead its Language Arts (English) Department. The Head will provide academic leadership, inspire teachers and students, and drive excellence in English language and literature education.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Language Arts (English) Department.
• Teach assigned English classes.
• Plan, implement, and monitor the English curriculum and assessment practices.
• Supervise, mentor, and support English teachers to maintain high academic standards.
• Monitor student progress and promote excellence in language learning.
• Coordinate literature‑based programmes, reading initiatives, and literary competitions.
• Oversee library management in coordination with the Librarian.
• Prepare departmental plans, reports, and academic documentation.
• Collaborate with school leadership on curriculum development and academic improvement.
• Support school events, co‑curricular activities, and other institutional programmes.
• Perform any other academic or administrative duties assigned by the Principal or Management.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in English language teaching or related academic leadership.
• Strong academic background in English literature and language.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop teaching staff.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
