Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Associate

About the role

Action For Nepal is looking for two Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Associates to strengthen the MEAL systems of its projects in Taplejung, Solukhumbu and Khotang. The role involves regular field visits, data collection, and supporting project teams to generate high‑quality evidence for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Project Officers in implementing field‑level activities aligned with project designs and the M&E framework.
• Track and update indicators across all outputs, maintaining indicator tracking sheets and project databases.
• Coordinate with district authorities, rural municipalities, health facilities and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual work plans, quarterly activity plans and detailed activity schedules.
• Participate in joint supervision visits, MSS assessments and support data documentation and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability or learning within development projects.
• Familiarity with indicator tracking, data management and reporting processes.
• Ability to work in remote field settings and travel regularly to project sites.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with local authorities and project partners.
