Operations Manager, Flash Flood Response

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead the Nepal Flash Flood Response in Rasuwa and Nuwakot, ensuring timely, quality delivery of multi‑sector humanitarian assistance in line with donor requirements and World Vision Nepal’s strategy. The role oversees project planning, coordination with partners, financial and supply‑chain management, and promotes staff safety and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of flash‑flood response projects across all sectors (food, shelter, CVA, WASH, health, education, protection, livelihood).
• Develop and maintain integrated work plans, budgets and monitoring milestones to achieve project targets.
• Provide operational leadership, decision‑making and adaptive management to address emerging risks and changing needs.
• Supervise and coach district response teams and coordinate multidisciplinary partners, ensuring compliance with humanitarian standards and donor regulations.
• Oversee financial management, procurement and reporting, ensuring accurate expenditure tracking and timely donor reports.
• Promote staff wellbeing, safeguarding and security, and foster a positive team culture aligned with World Vision values.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of management experience in national or international NGOs, including grants management.
• Demonstrated experience in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and leading multi‑partner humanitarian projects.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance requirements and experience preparing narrative and financial reports.
• Proven ability to train, facilitate and build capacity of staff, partners and government stakeholders.
