About the role
The Home Based Workers Concerned Society Nepal seeks a qualified Researcher/Consultant to lead studies on labour rights and care work for home‑based women workers. This contract position runs from August 2026 to August 2027 and is based in Ratopul, Kathmandu.
Key responsibilities
- Design and conduct research studies on national and international labour‑rights instruments.
- Develop policy strategies and recommendations for improving conditions of home‑based workers.
- Assess existing policies and propose evidence‑based improvements.
- Prepare and deliver research reports in English.
- Collaborate with home‑based workers women groups and facilitate virtual outreach using Zoom, Viber and similar tools.
Required profile
- Master's degree in Law, labour studies, sociology or a related field.
- At least five years of demonstrated experience in research, policy formulation, or assessment of labour‑rights instruments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Nepali.
- Proficiency in writing research reports in English.
- Comfortable working with and for home‑based workers women groups.
