Senior Project Associate – Monitoring and Evaluation

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Senior Project Associate to lead monitoring and evaluation of emergency shelter and settlement recovery activities in flood‑affected districts of central Nepal. The role supports the Head of MECR department and the Chief of Mission, ensuring data‑driven decision‑making and accountability to affected populations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the project M&E framework, including periodic assessments and data quality assurance across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.
• Develop and maintain data collection tools and systems to track emergency shelter, household assistance, site improvement and recovery interventions.
• Support the establishment and monitoring of a community‑based complaints and feedback mechanism, ensuring proper tracking and referral.
• Prepare progress reports, results updates and donor‑focused presentations, and coordinate with partners to meet visibility requirements.
• Document lessons learned and good practices from emergency shelter and settlement recovery interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in development studies, statistics, social sciences, disaster management or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in humanitarian M&E, data collection and analysis, preferably in emergency response or recovery.
• Fluency in English and Nepali (oral and written) is mandatory.
• Ability to work independently under pressure, travel frequently to project sites and work weekends or overtime as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with project management tools.
• Strong data quality assurance and results‑based management capabilities.
