Senior Project Manager – Disaster Risk Reduction & Humanitarian Response

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Emergency and Humanitarian Response (DEHR) components of the RISE Fund project in Nepal’s most vulnerable provinces. This role is responsible for coordinating with provincial governments, local partners, and multiple sectors to strengthen disaster preparedness and deliver rapid relief.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the implementation of DRR, emergency, and humanitarian activities across four interlinked components: emergency preparedness & coordination, shelter & relief support, health & WASH services, and protection & logistics.
• Identify, engage, and support local partners to ensure effective project delivery.
• Represent Lutheran World Relief in interactions with federal and provincial government agencies and non‑government stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and report on outcomes for 13 priority districts and 116 municipalities.
• Facilitate rapid deployment of emergency supplies, temporary shelters, mobile medical camps, and psychosocial support services.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in disaster risk reduction, emergency response, or humanitarian project management.
• Proven ability to work with government bodies and coordinate multi‑sectoral initiatives.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
