Software Engineer I, Machine Learning

About the role

Smart Data Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer I focused on Machine Learning to design, build, and maintain intelligent applications that automate healthcare processes. You will work with cutting‑edge AI models and help improve the company’s data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve machine‑learning models.
• Design and implement new applications that leverage LLMs, RAGs, and related technologies.
• Develop and enhance the machine‑learning infrastructure and pipelines.
• Analyze and automate existing business processes using AI.
• Investigate and remediate issues in machine‑learning workflows.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning, NLP, or deep‑learning concepts.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to document processes clearly and follow established policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern OOP language (Python, Java, C#, C++).
• Experience with LLMs and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Familiarity with common machine‑learning, NLP, computer‑vision, and data‑science libraries.
• Basic knowledge of MySQL relational databases.
• Basic Unix‑like operating system experience.
• Version control using Git.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows proficiency.
