Technical Supervisor – Renewable Energy & Civil Works

About the role

Himalayan Nature is seeking a Technical Supervisor (Sub‑overseer) to lead civil and renewable‑energy interventions in Shuklaphanta National Park, Kanchanpur. The role supports the Senior RTO in delivering sustainable infrastructure for rural communities while safeguarding biodiversity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Renewable Energy Engineer in pre‑feasibility studies, detailed surveys and data collection for RET system design.
• Design, estimate and oversee construction of physical structures such as solar water‑lifting, cold‑storage, solar dryer and solar water‑heating installations.
• Coordinate with park authorities and local partners to mobilise cash, in‑kind contributions and construction materials.
• Supervise installation, commissioning and routine maintenance of renewable‑energy equipment, ensuring technical compliance and efficiency.
• Document progress, prepare reports and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.

Required profile

• Sub‑Overseer (CTEVT recognized) or TSLC in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design, construction estimation and renewable‑energy technologies.
• Proven ability to work in remote field settings and engage with local communities.

Required skills

• Civil engineering design and construction estimation.
• Renewable Energy Technology (solar water lifting, cold storage, solar dryer, solar water heating).
• Surveying tools: GPS, Abney Level, leveling instruments.
• Basic electrical appliance installation and maintenance.
