Veterinary Officer

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Officer to lead the health, nutrition, and welfare of our goat and chicken populations. The role involves designing preventive health programs, creating feeding plans, diagnosing illnesses, and ensuring bio‑security across the farm.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, track and regularly report animal health status to the project manager.
• Provide training and coaching to staff on animal rearing, health, and nutrition.
• Coordinate deliveries and liaise with project staff and managers.
• Facilitate stall feeding practices, organic manure preparation, and quality fodder production.
• Support marketing activities for meat products.
• Supervise and monitor all project activities related to livestock production.

Required profile

• Practical knowledge of goat herd and chicken management.
• Experience with breeding practices, nutrition formulation, and disease prevention.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Proactive and able to work independently in a field environment.
