Area Sales Manager

About the role

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will lead sales growth across an assigned territory, driving revenue, expanding market coverage and strengthening relationships with distributors, dealers and key customers. You will be the bridge between field activities and corporate strategy, ensuring the company’s sales plans are executed effectively on the ground.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement area‑wise sales plans to meet monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• Lead, coach and motivate a sales team, monitoring daily activities, outlet visits and performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers and key accounts.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence within the territory.
• Conduct regular market visits to assess product availability, visibility, pricing and customer feedback.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure product availability and avoid stock shortages.
• Monitor competitor actions, market trends and pricing strategies.
• Plan and execute promotional, trade‑marketing and merchandising activities.
• Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts and market analyses.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and other departments to support sales operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or related field.
• 3–5 years of sales experience, preferably in FMCG, consumer goods, retail or distribution.
• 1–2 years of supervisory or managerial experience is a plus.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned area.
