Dental Counsellor

About the role

The Dental Counsellor guides patients through recommended dental treatments, explains procedures and treatment plans, and ensures smooth coordination between patients and clinical staff. This position requires strong communication abilities, a patient‑friendly approach, and the capacity to build trust throughout the treatment journey.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients, understand their concerns, and clarify treatment expectations.
• Explain dentist‑recommended treatment plans, procedures, benefits, costs, and timelines in clear language.
• Counsel patients to help them make informed decisions about recommended dental care.
• Coordinate closely with dentists and clinical staff to ensure accurate information flow.
• Follow up on consultations, pending treatments, appointments, and treatment continuation.
• Handle patient enquiries via calls, messages, and in‑person interactions.
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, consultations, follow‑ups, and treatment status.
• Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with patients throughout their treatment journey.
• Address patient concerns professionally and liaise with relevant departments when needed.
• Support hospital patient service, awareness, and promotional activities while maintaining confidentiality.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or dental‑related field.
• Previous experience in dental counselling, healthcare counselling, patient coordination, or a related area is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent counselling, interpersonal, and follow‑up abilities.
• Professional, confident, and patient‑friendly demeanor.
• Basic knowledge of dental treatments and procedures is a plus.
• Good computer proficiency for maintaining patient records.
• Ability to work effectively with dentists, clinical staff, and patients.
• Experience in a dental hospital or clinic is highly preferred.
