Deputy Chief Financial Officer – Remote, $1.6M/year

About the role

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer will redesign Trilogy’s finance function, create an AI‑native system, and own capital‑allocation decisions across a portfolio of businesses. Reporting directly to the CEO and working with the board, lenders, and capital partners, the role drives high‑impact financial strategy and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate capital across the portfolio by ranking uses on risk‑adjusted return and making fund, hold, restructure, exit, or acquisition recommendations.
• Architect an AI‑native finance system, redesigning planning, reporting, consolidation, controls, and workflow automation.
• Drive investments and transactions, building and defending financial cases for M&A, financing, and refinancing.
• Own board and capital‑partner communications, delivering quantified, defensible recommendations.
• Build a high‑leverage finance leadership team and set systems that scale without linear headcount growth.

Required profile

• Senior finance decision‑maker for a $100M+ revenue portfolio across multiple entities.
• Direct ownership of major capital‑allocation decisions and at least one $25M+ M&A, financing, or refinancing transaction.
• Experience presenting live to a board of directors and managing external audit relationships under US GAAP or IFRS.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or Workday.
• Recent experience re‑architecting finance workflows around AI with deep personal usage.
• Ability to build and defend integrated 3‑statement models, downside scenarios, and covenant calculations.
• Strong written and verbal English communication with CEOs, boards, lenders, or capital partners.
• Located within UTC‑8 to UTC+3 time zones.
