Freight Forwarding Specialist

About the role

The Freight Forwarding Specialist coordinates and manages domestic and international cargo movements by air, sea, and land. Working closely with clients, overseas agents, customs authorities and internal teams, the role ensures smooth, compliant and cost‑effective logistics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute import and export shipments via air, sea and land.
• Arrange bookings with airlines, shipping lines, freight carriers and overseas agents.
• Prepare, review and process shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, AWB, B/L, certificates of origin and customs declarations.
• Coordinate customs clearance with brokers and government authorities.
• Monitor shipment progress, provide proactive client updates and resolve delays or operational issues.
• Negotiate freight rates and prepare cost‑effective quotations.
• Manage door‑to‑door logistics, cargo consolidation, warehousing and final delivery.
• Maintain accurate shipment records in logistics management systems.
• Ensure compliance with Nepal Customs regulations, international trade laws and company policies.
• Support sourcing, procurement and broader supply‑chain operations as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping or customs clearance.
• Hands‑on experience with import/export documentation and international shipments.
• Familiarity with Nepal Customs procedures and international shipping regulations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Incoterms.
• Proficiency in customs procedures.
• Experience using logistics management systems.
