MEP Project Engineer (Senior)

About the role

We are seeking a senior MEP Project Engineer to lead the electrical maintenance and automation activities at our industrial plant in Butwal, Nepal. The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting, system optimisation and coordination with production teams to ensure reliable plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all electrical systems and equipment within the plant.
• Troubleshoot and service PLC, SCADA, VFDs, MCCs, motors and other industrial automation components.
• Monitor and maintain electrical distribution networks, panels, transformers and protection devices.
• Identify faults and execute corrective and preventive maintenance actions.
• Ensure electrical installations operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Read, interpret and work from electrical drawings and schematics.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance schedules, technical reports and logs.
• Guarantee compliance with electrical safety standards and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and optimisation of plant electrical systems.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Capability to work under pressure in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Focus on safety, preventive maintenance and minimising downtime.
• Proficiency in technical reporting and documentation.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with PLC, SCADA, VFD, MCC and motor‑control systems.
• In‑depth knowledge of industrial electrical distribution systems.
• Understanding of transformers, electrical panels, breakers, relays and protection systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards and industrial practices.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar engineering software.
• Good proficiency in MS Excel for technical documentation.
