Mid-Level Mechanical/Industrial Engineer

About the role

SSN Corporation is looking for a motivated Mechanical/Industrial Engineer to join its Kathmandu office. You will support the design and development of HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems for residential, commercial, and land‑development projects, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing designs and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit or similar tools.
• Perform design calculations, equipment sizing, system selection, and develop ductwork, piping, water supply, sanitary and storm‑drainage layouts.
• Produce construction and permit documents, including plans, sections, schedules, specifications and detailed drawings.
• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, civil and MEP drawings to resolve conflicts and ensure proper integration.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable U.S. building, mechanical, plumbing and energy codes and project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to address design revisions, plan‑review comments, RFIs and technical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical or plumbing design and drafting.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical and plumbing systems and ability to perform basic‑to‑intermediate design calculations for residential and commercial projects.
• Familiarity with U.S. building, mechanical, plumbing and energy codes; experience with U.S.-based projects is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).
• Experience with Revit MEP or similar BIM software (preferred).
• Ability to read, interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, civil and MEP drawings.
• Competence in performing HVAC and plumbing design calculations and equipment sizing.
