Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (RM&E) Officer will support the implementation and coordination of monitoring, evaluation and research activities at Ipas Nepal. Reporting to the Head of Department – Program Evidence, the role ensures high‑quality data collection, management and evidence generation to inform program decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project‑level RM&E systems, tools, frameworks and guidelines aligned with program needs.
• Oversee routine program monitoring, ensuring accurate and relevant data collection across projects.
• Ensure timely collection, validation and entry of data into the TERRA system and other platforms.
• Analyze RM&E data, identify gaps and trends, and support program teams in data‑driven decision‑making.
• Prepare quarterly, annual and ad‑hoc reports to meet donor, SWC and organizational requirements.
• Support research processes including study design, ethical approval, data collection and implementation.
• Maintain and update log frames, M&E plans, result frameworks, indicators, data collection tools and reporting templates.
• Conduct data quality assurance checks, audits and follow‑up actions.
• Coordinate with the Ipas Global RM&E team on data validation, tools and system issues.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards and national requirements such as HMIS.
• Participate in monitoring visits, joint field visits and baseline assessments.

Required profile

• Reports to the Head of Department – Program Evidence.
• Works closely with program teams, partners, government counterparts and the Ipas global RM&E team.
