National Director for Child Well‑being Programs

About the role

The National Director leads World Vision International’s strategic and operational efforts in Nepal, driving the 2026‑2030 Country Strategy to improve the well‑being of one million vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and leadership for program implementation, including partnerships with local NGOs and government.
• Prepare and execute rapid emergency responses, maintaining up‑to‑date preparedness and business continuity plans.
• Develop and manage external partnerships with government, civil society, donors, and the private sector to advance child‑well‑being objectives.
• Ensure operational excellence, financial stewardship, compliance, and risk management across all programmes.
• Lead fundraising efforts to diversify and grow the funding portfolio, including exploring climate‑based funding.
• Foster an inclusive organisational culture, promote servant leadership, and implement performance management and succession planning.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in international development, public policy, child rights, or organisational leadership.
• 10+ years of senior‑level leadership experience in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Deep understanding of Nepal’s political, social and economic context and its impact on a Christian international NGO.
• Proven track record in programme management, partnership building and fundraising in developing‑country settings.
