About the role

Next Coach is a global learning platform that connects learners with mentors worldwide so they can master new skills at their own pace. The Programming Language Mentor is a remote, flexible position focused on guiding learners through programming concepts and practical coding skills.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct live online mentoring sessions and explain core programming language features.
• Review learners' code and give constructive feedback on assignments and projects.
• Design session plans aligned with each learner's goals and recommend learning resources and exercises.
• Support problem-solving and debugging, and track learner progress.
• Adjust teaching approaches as needed and maintain a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience teaching, mentoring or coaching learners in technical topics, able to turn complex ideas into clear explanations.
• Effective communication, active listening, empathy and the ability to adapt teaching style to different learning needs.
• Comfort with remote collaboration tools, online meeting platforms and digital learning environments.
• Ability to design or follow structured learning plans and give actionable feedback.
• Prior experience in software development, technical education or bootcamp instruction is beneficial.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Java or C#.
• Solid understanding of core computer science concepts.
