Purchase & Supply Chain Officer (Pharmaceuticals)

About the role

We are seeking a Purchase & Supply Chain Officer to lead pharmaceutical purchasing activities for our manufacturing operations in Kathmandu. The role ensures that all purchased raw materials, packaging, equipment and services are cost‑effective, high‑quality, and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the purchasing department and enforce company procurement policies.
• Develop and execute procurement plans for raw materials, packaging, equipment, services and supplies.
• Review, compare, analyse and approve pharmaceutical products and services.
• Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
• Maintain and update supplier records, including qualifications, delivery performance and product ranges.
• Negotiate contracts and sustain strong supplier relationships.
• Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.
• Prepare procurement budgets, cost analyses and regular reports.

Required profile

• Master’s or graduate degree in Science, B.Pharm, B.Com or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchase and supply chain within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven supervisory and management experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with procurement/purchasing software.
