Sr. Applied AI Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior applied AI engineer to join our remote team in Nepal. You will build production‑grade AI agents that automate real business operations and integrate with existing application and API layers. This is a hands‑on engineering position that works directly with client stakeholders to deliver reliable, observable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with client stakeholders to map workflows and decide where AI agents add value versus deterministic logic.
• Design, build, and deploy multi‑step AI agents that use tool calling, retrieval, state management, and human approval.
• Expose backend capabilities as well‑defined agent tools and integrate safely with third‑party APIs.
• Implement security measures such as least‑privilege access, audit logging, and prompt‑injection mitigation.
• Set up observability, tracing, and debugging pipelines for all agent runs.
• Manage token costs through model selection, routing, caching, and context management.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript or Node.js and solid backend fundamentals (REST APIs, auth, databases, async processing, queues).
• Hands‑on experience building applications on modern LLM APIs and multi‑step LLM workflows.
• Experience evaluating LLM systems systematically and mitigating AI security risks.
• Proven ability to deploy, monitor, and debug production software.
• Clear communication skills for working with non‑technical stakeholders.
