MEAL Trainee – Data Monitoring & Evaluation (1‑year Fixed‑Term)

About the role

World Vision International Nepal is looking for a motivated graduate to join its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team for a one‑year traineeship. The MEAL Trainee will support day‑to‑day data and information management, feedback handling, and baseline and evaluation activities across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the MEAL team in managing project cycles, ensuring alignment with the National Strategy and MEAL goals.
• Support the IKM Specialist and team members with regular information monitoring, system updates, and data collection tool testing.
• Maintain secondary databases for various thematic areas and verify data quality (beneficiary records, activity tracking, feedback handling, RDQA).
• Participate in field‑visit monitoring and help gather evidence on program impact.
• Help organize MEAL events such as regular meetings, learning‑sharing sessions, and annual reviews.

Required profile

• Recent Nepali graduate with a strong interest in monitoring, evaluation, and humanitarian work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with national office staff and field teams.
• Good analytical mindset and attention to detail for data verification tasks.
• Willingness to learn and document daily reflections and progress reports.

Required skills

• Basic data management and database handling.
• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation concepts.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection tools is a plus.
