Senior Graphic Designer (Motion Graphics)

About the role

We are seeking a senior‑level graphic designer with strong motion‑graphics expertise to lead the visual creation for social media, digital campaigns and brand storytelling at Makura Creations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the visual and motion‑graphics direction across social media, websites, print and digital assets.
• Conceptualise, storyboard and produce animated videos, reels and brand‑film content.
• Maintain brand consistency and evolve brand guidelines for all visual outputs.
• Collaborate with marketers, developers and clients while mentoring junior designers.
• Create high‑quality visuals, infographics, presentations and video ads.
• Manage file organisation, version control and design workflows.
• Stay up‑to‑date with design and motion trends and introduce fresh ideas.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Motion Design or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with a portfolio that showcases both static design and motion‑graphics work.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept to delivery and to mentor junior team members.
• Excellent communication, presentation and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
• Strong command of design principles, typography, colour and animation timing.
• Experience with Canva; familiarity with Figma or other UI/UX tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D animation, sound design or storyboard creation is an advantage.
