Assistant Livestock Development Officer

About the role

The Assistant Livestock Development Officer will support the Livestock Department in researching, sourcing, and commercialising new livestock supplements and veterinary products. The role combines market analysis, regulatory coordination, and tender management, with occasional travel outside the Kathmandu Valley as required.

Key responsibilities

• Research, identify, and evaluate new livestock supplements, veterinary products, and related business opportunities based on market needs and business potential.
• Coordinate product sourcing (import/local), registration, approval, and documentation with suppliers, manufacturers, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Support product development, pricing, commercialisation, and market introduction, including market and competitor research.
• Identify and facilitate tender and institutional business opportunities, preparing tender documentation, product specifications, pricing research, quotations, submission, and follow‑up.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers, companies, government agencies, institutional clients, and strategic partners.
• Provide technical support for livestock products and assist sales and field teams in product promotion, application, and market development.
• Monitor and report progress on product development, registration, tender activities, and other assigned business initiatives.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in livestock product development or a related field.
