BDI Sales – Business Development & Institutional Sales

About the role

The BDI Sales professional will drive business growth for a leading building‑materials supplier in Kathmandu. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, managing institutional accounts and expanding dealer/channel networks across hardware, construction materials, cement, tiles and related products.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Generate leads through market visits, construction‑site visits, networking and industry contacts.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, developers, architects, consultants, dealers and retailers.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and follow up until order confirmation.
• Conduct regular market and site visits to spot upcoming projects and monitor competitor activities.
• Develop and support dealer, distributor and retail channel partners.
• Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective customers, addressing queries and recommending solutions.
• Coordinate order processing, stock availability, dispatch, delivery and payment follow‑up.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales reports and keep the customer/project database up to date.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or business development within the building‑materials, hardware or construction sector.
• Strong field presence with the ability to build relationships with contractors, developers, architects, dealers and retailers.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to track market trends, competitor actions and upcoming projects.
• Organised and capable of maintaining accurate sales records and reports.
