Account Officer – Internal Accountant (Nepal & Australia)

About the role

Ghothane Lawyers is seeking an Internal Accountant to manage the financial health of its Nepal operations while supporting its Australian business. The role covers the full accounting cycle, credit control, and compliance across both jurisdictions, offering a collaborative international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivable for Nepalese and Australian operations, including invoicing, collections and credit control using Xero.
• Process supplier invoices and handle Accounts Payable.
• Maintain accurate financial records with Xero, Smokeball, Tally and other software.
• Administer monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with Nepal SSF, VAT, TDS and Labour Act requirements.
• Prepare statutory reports and assist with financial compliance.
• Perform bank, general ledger, AR and AP reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Monitor expenses and uphold strong internal financial controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (completed).
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Good understanding of Nepal payroll, SSF, VAT, TDS and Labour Act.
• Exposure to Australian accounting practices is an advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
