Data Center Engineer

About the role

Responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems supporting critical data‑center infrastructure, ensuring a reliable, safe, and uninterrupted power supply to IT and facility equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate UPS, generators, ATS/AMF panels, MDB/SMDB/DB panels, PDU/RPP systems, battery banks and transformers.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all electrical equipment and distribution cabling.
• Track electrical parameters (voltage, current, frequency, power factor, kW/kVA) and log daily operational data.
• Respond to alarms, faults and emergencies, execute initial troubleshooting and switching operations per approved MOP/SOP/EOP.
• Conduct routine inspections of UPS rooms, generator rooms, battery rooms and data halls.
• Assist with testing of UPS, batteries, generators and overall electrical systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors during installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance actions, incidents, equipment status and compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technician training.
• 2–5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a data‑center or critical‑facility environment.
• Solid understanding of three‑phase power systems and electrical distribution.
• Ability to read Single Line Diagrams and electrical drawings.
• Basic proficiency with multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers and thermal cameras.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
