Driver for IFRC Flash Flood Response

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is hiring a driver to support the Flash Flood 2026 response operation in Nepal. The driver will transport delegates, local staff, and cargo safely and efficiently, initially based in Nuwakot.

Key responsibilities

• Drive assigned IFRC vehicles in compliance with all road safety, traffic laws, and IFRC driving rules.
• Ensure all occupants wear safety belts before moving the vehicle.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform daily inspections, and record fuel and mileage in the logbook after each trip.
• Secure and manage vehicle equipment such as jack, tools, fire extinguisher, and vehicle documents.
• Handle ad‑hoc tasks including airport pickups, warehouse trips, and document deliveries.
• Verify that all mission orders and travel requests are approved before travel.

Required profile

• Secondary school education or equivalent.
• Valid driving licence with at least five years of safe driving record.
• 2‑3 years of relevant driving experience, including off‑road 4WD operation in Nepal.
• Good mental health, physical fitness, and discretion with confidential information.

Required skills

• Defensive Driving Certificate.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle upkeep.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); Nepali language required.
