Primary Social Studies Teacher (Grades 4‑5)

About the role

Rosebud School is looking for a dedicated Primary Social Studies Teacher to join its team on a part‑time basis. The successful candidate will teach Grades 4 and 5, helping students explore society, culture, history, geography and civic values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons for Grades 4 and 5.
• Prepare lesson plans, classroom activities, assignments and learning materials.
• Teach concepts in a clear, simple, and age‑appropriate manner.
• Encourage student participation, discussion, critical thinking and teamwork.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and well‑managed classroom environment.
• Assess students through classwork, homework, projects, quizzes and other activities.
• Maintain accurate academic and attendance records.
• Coordinate with other teachers and school administration regarding student progress and needs.
• Uphold professional conduct and confidentiality of student information.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in primary Social Studies (Grades 4‑5).
• Ability to design and deliver age‑appropriate lessons.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
