Senior Go + DevOps Engineer

About the role

Ujyalo Ventures is looking for a passionate Senior Go + DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. This technical contributor role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that power our platform. The position works closely with product, frontend, and technology operations teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs primarily in Go.
• Collaborate with product managers and technical leads to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Design and implement RESTful and/or gRPC APIs for internal and external consumers.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, including debugging, performance tuning, and root‑cause analysis.
• Partner with DevOps/technology operations to support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and infrastructure needs.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision‑making.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and refinements.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collaborate with QA to validate deliverables.
• Assist with release planning, deployments, and post‑release validation.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including system design docs, API documentation, and runbooks.
• Manage and track development tasks using Jira.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 3+ years of hands‑on Go development.
• Minimum 2+ years of DevOps experience.

• Go (including concurrency patterns and idiomatic practices)
• RESTful API and gRPC design
• Relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Version control with Git
• CI/CD pipeline implementation
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
• Microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts
• Jira for task and workflow management
